13th Annual Bay Area Anarchist Bookfair

The main room will have over 50 booksellers, distributors, independent presses and political groups from the Bay Area, the west coast and North America. Speakers and panels will be featured in the auditorium, with some discussions and speakers in the cafe area as well.

The Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair has become one of the largest annual gatherings of anarchists and radical books in the world. As always, everyone is welcome, from long-term anarchists to the merely curious!

PANEL DISCUSSION: Coalition for Justice in the Maquiladoras

Maquiladora workers discuss their struggle for justice against Key
Safety Systems. Michigan-based Key Safety Systems is a leading global
producer of airbags and other auto safety products that has moved its
production to Mexico. In 2007 CJM published NAFTA From Below:
Maquiladora Workers, Campesinos and Indigenous Communities Speak Out
on the Impact of Free Trade on Mexico, describing what free trade has
meant for the people of Mexico and the human cost of labor
exploitation, including intense environmental pollution, cultural
disintegration, and increased emmigration. See also

Movie Showing: Legalization Sucks

Maxine Doogan produced Legalization Sucks which features two Nevada
brothel workers and two San Francisco dance club workers who talk
about how their legal work conditions suck. Maxine Doogan is also the
founder of Erotic Service Providers Union whose directive is to bring
together labor and sex industry workers to further our rights from the
sex workers centered perspective. Maxine Doogan is also the proponent
of a signature drive to quality a ballot initiative to decriminalize
prostitution in San Francisco for the November 2008 ballot.

First 100 Years, which has been called the most comprehensive history
of the union ever published.
