Hey everyone, just and interesting piece of news about the the Strike-Bike. If you haven't heard, a group of German workers took over their bike factory to keep it from closing down and are now producing a 'strike-bike' to keep the factory in operation. Apparently they're being helped out by an anarcho-syndicalist union, The Free Workers Union. So if anyone is in the market for a bike... Also, does anyone know if GLAM-ROC has any involvement or analysis of this? I'd be interested to here their perspective. Either way, here's the english language link: http://www.strike-bike.de/1/index.php?&hl=en_US

hi ncwobbly. this is a very inspiring story. apparently they had a quota of bikes to sell and i got an email today saying they had sold them all - 1,800 or thereabouts!
apparently this is the first time in the FDR that a workplace has been taken over and run by its (technically, former) employees. a brilliant example for us all. i don't know about GLAMROC participation - i know the german wobblies have good relations with the FAU though.
