Seafarers White Hats are a Fraud

Many years ago the fledgling Seafarers International Union adopted the wearing of white hats to signify that they were untouched by the criminal element that infested the Longshormen's Union. We know for certain that this is a fraud and have suspected same for a number of years. Below you will find information from a member of the American Maritime Officers Union concerning donations made to two Mafia members by both the Maritime Defense League and the American Maritime Officers Legal Defense Fund. These donations of seafarers hard earned money were made without permission or knowledge of the rank and file members of those unions.

We also have the testimony of a sailor who grew up in Brooklyn with Michael Sacco concerning Seafarers Union Payoffs to the mob. Money was actually given to the mob on regular basis in order for them to keep their hand off of the union, according to our informant. Michael Sacco filed suit against me in three different courts in order to find the identity of our informants but would not submit, in court, to my questions and dropped the case.

Sacco tried to make it look like he was dropping the case in order to save you money but this was a lie. He didn't care about you when he hired several outside lawfirms who turned out to be incompetent and their fees were many thousands of dollars. He also had his internal legal machine cranking out paperwork to try to shut me up. You can bet that the amount spent by the union at Sacco's request was many thousands of dollars of the members money.

And, of course, we have information from William Redden, a retired FBI agent, that Michael Sacco is a "MADE MEMBER" of the Mafia. Mike was given to the SIU as a favor to the Mafia Hierarchy for services rendered to the Union. Rumor has it that Mike was shot in the stomach during one of his famous Knee Capping escapade and we would love to see his medical records.

William Redden was the FBI agent, along with Joseph Theis of the Labor Department that Busted Sacco's crew for the "Ghost Room Scheme" This is the Fraud where the union raided the Seafarers Welfare Plan to the Tune of Two Million Dollars. The union escaped prosecution for this crime and had to pay the money back to the plan. The reason they escaped was because they were large contributors to the Democratic Party.

We know, from testimony given to the labor department's Joe Theis, that Sacco's only SIU employment was on Paul Halls knee capping crew stationed on the Dredge Zanzibar. He even admits this on his official encyclopedic Wikepedia entry, where previously he claimed to have deep sea time. He never did. SO, the man is not only a crook of the first order, but a liar as well.

You are probably wondering how a man with no seatime became the President of the SIU. We can't prove it, yet, but will not give up looking for those answers. Somewhere out there is the one piece of information that will put Sacco in Jail with his recently convicted friend Michael McKay, who it turned out stole every election that he was involved in.

Someone will roll over on Sacco just like they did to McKay. We have no doubt!!!!!

Information regarding Officers Defense Service voluntary fund

Robert,
The May 2007 Edition of the AMO Newspaper has the following story on this "Voluntary Fund." The public spirited citizens controlling this "FUND," were all appointed by the McKay Family. It comes under very little regulation or scrutiny by the Government because of the way it is structured. Lucille Hart the current Administrator is a former MEBA PLANS Administrator and the long time girlfriend of the AMO PLANS Actuary. He (AMO Actuary), was likewise the MEBA Actuary for many years but Ron Davis recently terminated him for reasons unknown to me. Although ODS Funds have been utilized by sailing members, it is minimal to say the least. You are correct that the Fund is for Union Official's potential problems. The Fund Committee Members have total control, without any sort of appeal process, as to whether or not you receive any money from the Fund. You are correct in your assessment that the SIU, Maritime Defense League is the mirror image of AMO's Officers Defense Fund. Both Funds made extremely large contributions to the legal defense of Brooklyn, ILA Local 1814 Union Officials, Anthony Scotto and Todo Annastasia in the 80's.
,

The following information was provid-
ed to American Maritime Officers by Lucille
Hart, administrator, Officers Defense
Service (ODS).
Committee members
The members of the ODS committee
are public-spirited citizens who have no affil-
iation with American Maritime Officers.
Appointments to committee vacancies are
made by the remaining members of the com-
mittee.
Introduction
The Officers Defense Service is a vol-
untary legal defense fund, which was estab-
lished in 1973 by action of what is now the
American Maritime Officers union. The
ODS does not include funds from the AMO
treasury or other union assets.
The purpose of the ODS is to make
available funds for members and retired
members of maritime unions who are
charged with criminal offenses or who are
defendants in civil actions arising out of
alleged acts or omission in their capacity as
members, officers or representatives of such
unions, or who are the subject of judicial or
legislative investigation.
The regulations of the ODS provide
that funds or grants may be made available
for legal representation and defense, investi-
gator services, expert witnesses, accountants
and other professional services necessary to
establish a legal defense for eligible mem-
bers.
Eligibility
Contributions to the ODS by AMO
members are voluntary and may be made by
authorized deduction from a member’s vaca-
tion pay or pension benefits or by personal
check. There is no set dollar amount of con-
tribution.
Members may contribute as much and
as often as they want. However, the commit-
tee will not consider any grant request by a
member ho did not contribute to the ODS
before such member first became aware of
the investigation, proceeding, suit or action
for which the grant is being sought.
If you would like to contribute to the
ODS, you may contact the AMO Vacation
Plan for an authorization to deduct the con-
tributions from your vacation pay, or contact
your AMO representative to make a contri-
bution by check and receive a receipt for
your contribution.
