Subway signs on; Northeast tour continues!

Focus shifting to supermarket and foodservice industries as Subway joins other fast-food leaders in working with the CIW

December 2, 2008 - Subway, the third largest fast-food chain in the world and the biggest fast-food buyer of Florida tomatoes, reached an agreement this morning with the CIW to help improve wages and working conditions for the workers who pick their tomatoes!

Meanwhile, the Northeast Fair Food Tour continues. In cities from Washington to Boston to New York, the Tour delegation will be meeting with local student and community groups for celebration and education as well as organizing delegations to local supermarkets and foodservice providers' offices.
