Welcome to the Harry Bridges Project

The Harry Bridges Project was created to promote the legacy of labor leader Harry Bridges and to aid in the public's understanding of his importance to history. Bridges' work, which had and still has an enormous impact on our lives, is largely unknown outside specific labor union and academic circles. Our project presents his story to a much wider public through a variety of mediums. We take our audiences on a journey through some of America's most turbulent years, with one of its most dynamic figures as their guide.

The project grieves the loss of a wonderful man

We are sad to have lost Jack Stryker who was both a great friend and generous supporter of the project. Jack was a "100% union man" and we miss him.
