We will gather at 11 am at the intersection of Park Blvd and 580/MacArthur Blvd., Oakland, next to Oakland High School. Shortly before noon, we will march the 2 blocks to the E. 33rd and Park Blvd for a moment of silence. This is where a bomb planted in her car exploded and nearly killed Judi Bari on May 24 in 1990. In 2003, the City of Oakland declared May 24 Judi Bari Day. Please join us! Look for the colorful banner that says "Don't Ever Give Up!" Leaving BART at 10:27, 10:42 background: It was 18 years ago on May 24, 1990 that a pipe bomb planted under her car seat exploded and nearly killed Judi Bari, and only hours later that she was charged with bombing herself, along with her comrade in the car, Darryl Cherney. It was 11 years ago that Judi, after fighting the FBI, fighting for the forests and the workers, and putting together a Constitutional rights lawsuit against the FBI and Oakland cops, tragically died of cancer at her home. A public memorial for Bruce "Utah" Phillips, who died
Friday night, will be on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Nevada City Little League field
in Pioneer Park.
Phillips was a big baseball fan and regularly attended
the Little League games in the park.
“He was a fixture at the games,” said Cindy Maple,
executive director of Hospitality House and a friend of Phillips.
The memorial is expected to last two hours. The day had
been decided by Phillips' family during the weekend but the exact time and place
were were not worked out until Tuesday

On June 15 the Baltimore GMB will be holding a fundraiser with the infamous Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers!
This fundraiser is being put on by FW Mike Binsky a treasure to the younger members of the branch, Mike has been a member for thirty years and does not know where he would be without the IWW.
To show his commitment he has booked this show, and in the coming months more jazz shows to help fundraise for the Baltimore branch.
