The theme for the 2008 Rouge Forum Conference is: “Education: Reform or Revolution?” and will be hosted by Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY March 14 – March 16, 2008. Given the recent Supreme Court decision, striking down the local school district’s student assignment plan; the ongoing war(s) in the Middle East; and the consistent environmental degradation of the planet, the 2008 conference will focus on one of the major socializing influences in our lives: Education. http://www.rougeforum.org/

LCAP workplace organising training with IWW speaker

work shop with sessions on:

* KNOWING OUR RIGHTS AT WORK
* WHY WE SHOULD ORGANISE AT WORK
* HOW TO ORGANISE YOUR WORKPLACE

The day will consist of:

First session: 'Exploring Workers' Rights': looking at basic rights; where to find sources of information; exploring what rights apply in particular scenarios. Participants will receive a booklet containing what has been covered.

The Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair has become one of the largest annual gatherings of anarchists and radical books in the world. As always, everyone is welcome, from long-term anarchists to the merely curious!


Speakers and panelists this year will include:

Blood Service Demo - NBS Watford HQ

As part of our ongoing campaign to prevent cuts in the UK's National Blood Service, London IWW and the IWW Healthcare Workers' Union are holding a demonstration at the NBS Headquarters in Watford to raise awareness of the issues involved. Please come along and invite others.

The meeting will address the issues of direct action organizing, and the role of dual-card members in the IWW. We will also be hosting a literature table throughout the weekend and a Wobbly social, with music by Anne Feeney, on Saturday night. For Immediate Release: April 9, 2008 Contact: Kenneth Miller 412-241-1339 Sweatshop Activists Make Pitch to Allegheny County Airport Authority 11AM – Friday, April 11 Pittsburgh International Airport Pittsburgh - On Friday April 11 at the Allegheny County Airport Authority’s Board meeting members of the Pittsburgh Anti Sweatshop Community Alliance (PASCA) will present a policy that would prohibit the procurement of uniforms made in sweatshops. The policy will be similar to the Anti Sweatshop Ordinances in adopted by the City of Pittsburgh in 1997 and Allegheny County in 2006. Should the Airport Authority adopt a policy it will be the second transportation hub in the country to do so, coming after an October 2006 resolution by the LA Board of Harbor Commissioners.
