The Boston GMB has a new elected Secretary-Treasure; FW Bill Bumpus!
Industry Night continues every second Wednesday of every month, 7pm @ the Milky Way, come and enjoy games, prizes, live music as well as good company!
Anyone interested in coming to N.Y on a organizing delegation call (781) 913.0290. Their are about 2 seats available. The delegation will pertain to organizing in immigrant communities and work places. The Time and Date of the delegation TBA.
July 30th members will be meeting to hash out the details of an up and coming OTC. The meeting will be held at FW Sara Willing's place: 6pm sharp, 20 Washburn Ave. App 2/3 Cambridge, Ma 02140.
The IWW General Assembly will be here before you know it! It is required that our branch sends a general report to the assembly be it by mail or verbal. I recommend a special meeting be set up of members of the Boston IWW to write up said report.
Starbucks Solidarity Night in Boston a success! The Boston IWW raised $380 for the Starbucks Workers Union in the first of a series of planned IWW Solidarity Nights. Solidarity for Fellow Workers, great music and food was what it was all about. The benefit had a great turnout despite a last minute change in venue. In between act FW's from our branch spoke to the crowd about what is going on with the campaign and the fired Baristas. The word defiantly got out to the community of the continuing assault on Starbucks workers by the company. The event was held on September 9th at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge, and featured performance's by Dieselhorse, Evan Greer(The riot folk Collective), Jake and the Infernal Machine, Clara Hendricks, Bill Bumpus and Ryan Harvey . The branch plans to continue holding Solidarity Nights on a regular basis in support of IWW organizing campaigns, particularly when workers are victimized for their union membership. The Boston GMB has a SWU Committee on the street ready to talk with Boston Starbucks Baristas! For more information call 617.873.0843 or email us at starbucks_worker@yahoo.com.
A HUGE Thanks to everyone who helped with set up, clean up, played music and got folks to come on out!

Ma, will be our second annual Solidarity Night. Proceeds will go to the SWU Campaign. Music starts at 8pm. Suggested donation $10. Music acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
FWs Mike Bell & Israel Agulair are working with CISPES( Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador) on organizing a delegation to the El Salvadorian Consulate in Boston on 27th of September at 12 noon. The delegation will present demands to the Consulate that the government will not repress the up and coming demonstrations in El Salvador on the 12 of October. The demonstration is in response to the on going effort by the Right in El Salvador to privatize their water supply. Members of the El Salvadorian community along with Armondo Flores from the Center for Defence of the Consumer in El Salvador, as well as are very own FW Israel Agulair will be apart of the delegation.
Many members of the community, allied organizations and Unions will be outside the consulate for the demonstration. CISPES will be holding a press conference promptly after the delegation gives its demands.
In the past few years their has been an increasing build up in repression on the left and Labor Unions in El Salvador. Police violence, reactivation of Death Squads and documented Death Squad murders on prominent members of the left are a few examples of this.
Friday & Saturday OCT. 14th & 15th I.W.W ORGANIZER TRAINING CLASS! ALL members of the Boston GMB are encourage to attend. The classes will give lessons on the basic aspects of organizing as well as case studies and strategies. We are sure you will leave with a better understanding of Solidarity Unionism and the roll of the I.W.W in the current labour movement. If you would like to volunteer your time to help make this happen you can call FW Mike Bell at 781.913.0290, we could us the support!
Quick Reminder to all Delegates: Reports Due to the Secretary Bill Bumpus by the 15th of this month! Don't be late!
