Mercadona offers 300.000 euros to the Permanent Secretariat of CNT for the dismissal of all strikers

THE EMPLOYEES RETURNED TO MAKE PROTESTS WITH A DEMONSTRATION ON WEDNESDAY, 9TH OF AUGUST.
Members of the Permanent Secretariat of CNT have made a type of preagrees with the Director of Human Resources and the Director of working relations of Mercadona on saturday, 5th of August in Madrid which was meant to be ratified on tuesday, 8th of August in Sevilla terminating the strike by this way. Nevertheless Mercadona made an "espectacular" turn on the same day trying to buy the dismissal of all workers for 300.000.
On 8th of August the general secretary and the secretary of union action of the National Comitee of CNT, Rafael Corrales and Antonio Baena, had a new meeting with the General Director of human resources and the Director of working relations of Mercadona, José Antonio Jiménez and Antonio Muñoz, in the Hotel "AC Santa Justa" in Sevilla in order to finalize the preaggrees achieved on saturday before in the Hotel "NH Nacional" in Madrid. The agree supposed - apart other progresses - an acceptable solution for the workers of the logistic centre of Mercadona in Sant Sadurni D'Anoia (Barcelona) on strike since the 23th of March.
Nevertheless according to CNT both directors of Mercadona ignored the preagrees and offered last night the millionary sum of 50 millions pesetas as indemnization for the dismissal of all strikers. This supposed the rupture of negotiations because for CNT "buying strikers is inaceptable and deveices the dignity of workers".
Regarding the sencelessness of both directors CNT makes Mercadona direct und unique responsable for the annoyances caused by protests and suffered by the neighbours in Barcelona and province. During the last negotiation all points were agreed and Mercadona knows about the irregularities denounced by the employees. This way to act is a surprise for CNT because they want to buy with millions of bills a fundamental right like the one to strike for.
CNT remembers that the employees went on strike because of three dismissals (which although the same company considers as inappropiate or so they were declared by the courts), the recognition of the union section of CNT, stop of mobbing and some minor improvements like that the half an hour of break to eat should be considered as effective and paid working time and the fulfillment of the norms of security and hygiene on work and those of prevention of labour risks.
The employees returned one day after to make protests in Barcelona with a demonstration which began at 6 o'clock on "Plaza de España" and terminated in the corner of the streets "Sants" and "Badal".
