Twin Cities GMB Radical Film Night
The Twin Cities General Membership Branch will begin hosting monthly film nights, where movies relating to various working-class struggles will be shown. For the month of May, we'll present "Spies in Steel: the Dollar a Day Man", a film by Chisholm native Tom Selinski relating to the company spy networks on Minnesota's iron ranges. The movie is timely not only with the anniversary of the 1916 strike at hand, but also with the recent attempts to criminalize immigrant organizing and solidarity, since much of the spies' attention was focused on the so-called lawless, radical immigrants. A discussion of the film and the IWW will follow the screening. This event is free and open to the public.
Tuesday, May 30th starting at 7:45 p.m.-- University of Minnesota's Nicholson Hall, East Bank of the Minneapolis campus --216 Pillsbury Drive SE Room 135The IWW is a union dedicated to making the world a better place for all by building solidarity and class consciousness across industries and borders. We organize all workers on the job into one union, rather than dividing workers by trade.
