The WORKING PEOPLE'S LIBRARY (WPL) is an autonomous not-for-profit project of individual members of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), and Bayou La Rose. These books has been written, edited and published by IWW members. Though we all support the ideas and the organization of the IWW, WPL publications may include ideas and views that go beyond the agreed upon official ideas and views of the IWW.
The purpose of the WPL is to provide literature written by working people for working people. One of the important steps in our class struggle is for working people to learn to speak for ourselves and to no longer depend upon those outside of our class to speak for us. To aid in this goal the WPL will produce working class literature that seeks to unite our class and stands against all that is used to divide our class, such as; racism, sexism, ageism, nationalism and other such elements of working class divisions.
