The Industrial Workers of the World now have a branch in Atlanta! We've been ten years without one, so why not raise a glass and raise a little money at the same time?

So we're throwing a party at the Cut in Reynoldstown! There will be live music, grilled out food (veg and carnivor), and drinks. in addition we will have literature and goodies for any contribution to the newly formed and chartered Atlanta General Membership Branch. Come on out and celebrate the founding local from the best damn labor union the world has ever known: The I.W.W.

Acts include:

I WANT WHISKY
and MORE!

GRAND PRIZE WINNERS FROM LAST YEAR
is a live quartet of drum machinists, horn players, guitarists, keyboardists, vocalists, and overall sound sculptors. They refer to their sound as genre-less but have been compared to "Outkast meets TV On The Radio meets Blondie. We like to think our music sounds like when self-medication is going good." G.P.W.F.L.Y. have no predisposition about their music and have stated "We are not in or out of the box because to us there is no box."

I WANT WHISKY
In late 2006, in search of something new, punk-rocker and native of Atlanta, Cullen "Georgia Slim" Brown began his new accordion folk act, I WANT WHISKY, solo at first, with a few guests here and there for about a year, opening for many local punk house-shows with labor and drinking songs. He slowly added members and by 2008, I Want Whisky was a four piece incorporating instruments such as accordion, guitar, harmonica, piano, autoharp, banjo, and bass. The quartet fused elements of folk, bluegrass, blues, and Irish folk to write new material and perform the old labor and drinking songs in new ways.
