changing jobs

Submitted by Jeremy McNaughton on Tor, 10/05/2006 - 11:36pm.

Hi,

I recently quit my job at a call centre and went back to school.  I was wondering if that made me part of IE610, and also if/who I should notify about my change in employment.

There's no branch here(London, ON), as far as I know there's only one other Wobbly and he's not on the up and up.

I assume you mean you are wondering whether you should transfer to Industrial Union 620 (Education Workers).  If you are not intending to work at that call center in the near future, or any other place in that same industry, you probably should transfer to IU620.  I'm not sure how you pay your dues, but you can send a note to GHQ and ask them to change you over.  Have you thought about getting in touch with IWWs from Toronto or Peterborough ?

Hey there, We of the Toronto GMB are trying to bring together the handful of wobs in towns in southern Ontario (eg. Guelph, London, Peterborough). We hope to organize an Ontario IWW gathering soon, bringing together the Toronto GMB, Ottawa GMB and other scattered wobs. The Toronto branch's email is: iwwtoronto@gmail.com or the Peterborough contact at: ptboiww@riseup.net . It'd be cool to work with you! Paul B. (Peterborough Delegate)
