This chart was first included in Wm. E. Trautmann's booklet, One big union; an outline of possible industrial organization of the working class, with chart (Chas. H. Kerr 1912). Trautmann left the I.W.W. to join De Leon's "paper I. W. W.", later called the W. I. I. U., in about 1913. The I. W. W. continued to publish revisions of the booklet, without Trautmann's name, under various titles ("One Big Union", "One Big Union of All the Workers: the Greatest Thing On Earth", "One Big Union of the I. W. W.", etc.), as well as numerous translations, while the W. I. I. U. published a new edition as One Great Union, with the following note:
The translations in Hungarian, by a certain Chas. Rothfischer, with the name of the author omitted, and with misrepresentations galore, nor the Polish and Bohemian translations now in the book market, have not been authorized by the author, and the revenues derived from the sales of these translations are not being used for the propaganda of industrial unionism, but to support a band of irresponsible scavengers on the labor movement.
